The Columbia River, which divides much of Oregon and Washington, runs East to West (right to left here) and is an incredible sight to see. Interstate 84 is seen running along the river in this photo.

When I was driving some backcountry trails outside of Moab, Utah last summer, I couldn't resist taking this shot of my Jeep with the southern Utah mountains in the background. I'm not sure how many miles of trails there are out there, but I drove them for a whole day and never hit the same spot twice.

Somewhere in the middle of the 4000 sq-mile Great Basin Desert of Northwest Utah lies a sculpture erected in 1973 by Nancy Holt called "Sun Tunnels. Each tube is 18 feet long and 9 feet in diameter.

On my way home from work on October 20th, 2008, I drove past this pond between Columbia and Lake Avenues in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The water was exceptionally still, the streetlights perfectly highlighted the fall colors, and the moonlit sky glowed a deep indigo blue.I nearly slammed on the brakes the moment I laid eyes on the scene.It didn't matter what my plans were. The next thing on my schedule had just become "set up a tripod". Every time that shutter closed I giggled with excitement.This is the first in a series of seasonal photos at the same location.

In mid June, 2008 I made some friends in Pinedale, Wyoming who worked for the Forestry Service. The trail I had planned to hike was under four feet of fresh snow, so I opted to hang out with these folks for the night.We went dock fishing at Fremont Lake in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.This is a 2 minute 25 second exposure of the three of us on the end of the dock; I'm in the red hoodie.The light and shadows cast are from the moon.

On the northwest corner of Arrowsmith Road and Cicero Road in Defiance County, Ohio stands what's left of an old brick building. It's not clear what the building was, but I traipsed across rotting roof timbers to get this shot, all the while hoping against falling through the debris.

Indiana University / Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Indiana.I was working one night, and stopped by a parking garage here as a storm rolled in. No more did I get the camera onto a tripod and open the shutter than this lightning struck in the dead center of the frame.Can’t say I’ve ever been that photographically lucky before, having a Monk-ish obsession with symmetry in photography.This is, interestingly, a revisit of the very type of photography that "sparked" (no pun intended) my initial interest in photography as a kid. It was by random chance that I captured a bolt of lightning on a disposable camera in Wyoming, and I've loved taking pictures ever since.

This photo is a 23-minute fisheye exposure looking directly at the rebel North Star (Polaris) which, unlike it's celestial comrades, refuses to testify to the Earth's rotation.

On the evening of 8/25/2008, I drove to the booming metropolis of Gilead, Indiana to meet a Flickr friend I made several months ago, Michael Sarver (see About - Other Sites). He and his wife are good people, and he's one heck of a talented photographer.

We had an awesome conversation about everything from Photography to Christianity and back, then stood out in the yard for a good hour shooting photos of the stunning night sky.

The infamous, stolen Downtown Pano. This is the only one of my photos that has been printed 2,500 times without my permission, but it's still my favorite, and it's the first one I post here to inaugurate the site. The image began as nineteen separate exposures, painstakingly stitched together to create a 180-degree view from the roof of a parking garage.
