If only cameras could capture what sunsets like this really look and feel like. And yes, sunsets have a "feel" as unique as a fingerprint, at least to me they do.
You do not disappoint. It does give a beautiful 'cold' view of what is coming. It looks like the sky burst open and the cold is rushing in, causing the lower air to condense in clouds, much like opening the refrig door on a blistering hot day in August.

Weak light, leaves fast in the winter because it knows it's not needed for warmth, anyway. In this light the sky is the color of the advent candles, which is appropriate for the season, I think. Trees reduced to a suggestion, a black outline.
You know how it is when you're sitting in a warm room in the winter, and somebody brings the cold in with them? I agree with Carl, that's kind of what this picture looks like. The light, a Fisher King in the winter and not worth much at all, bows to the night and the cold and the glory of it all.
Do you ever look at the sky on a certain summer day and say, "Wow, you't never see the sky look like this in winter? This is a sky that can only come in summer."
The same for winter...certain skies you look at and think ... only in December could we see a sky like this ... never in July.
Spot on with this write-up, I really assume this website needs far more consideration. I抣l probably be once more to learn way more, thanks for that info.

Kinda puts that "we're not the center of the universe, but a small part of a MUCH larger picture" thing in perspective REAL well.
Beautiful shot.
